Variography and Variograms

While your data sheet is activated, select "Variogram" from "Modeling" menu [1].

"Model Setting" window will be appeared.

Select the data columns you intended to use as X, Y, Z and W [2].

There is some initial statistical information about your data file here.

You may intend to use data collected from districted area.

Set your data limits here. Default values cover all data, recorded to the active data sheet [3].

You could reload default values by clicking refresh signs.

If you want to remove suspected data or highly suspected data from your process, check the appropriate checkbox here [4].

There is another tab labeled "Variogram" .You can determine the initial settings for verifying process.e is another tab labeled "Variogram" .You can determine the initial settings for verifying process.

Select "Variogram" tab and see how you could determine initial parameters for verifying.

There are three main areas here:

At "Modeling Options" [5], you could select the Variogram model type. All ordinary types like spherical, quadratic, linear, power and … are available. Gridat fit a Variogram model to Variography values, according to the Variogram type, you’ve selected. The amount set as precision related to the accuracy of the model Gridat created. The figure 5 is often suitable.

If you check "Manual Model" then you had to insert nugget effect at "C0", scale at "C" and Range at "a" manually. Gridat models are often accurate. Therefore leave "Manual Model" unchecked. If Gridat result was not satisfied, then use manual modeling and change search options settings and Variogram model parameters to access an acceptable model.

Some default values written down at the "Search Options" [6]. Default values are calculated according to the data set and you can change them manually. If you like to restore default values again click "Recommended Search Option Values" [7].

There is a 3D modeling object available here to help you have a better imagination about search options.

Don’t forget if your data set obtains a lognormal distribution model you must transform data to normal. Then select "Normalized" at the "Read Data As" area [8]. Although Gridat study your data normalization and select "Normalized" if it was necessary, but sometimes you may not agree with Gridat. Then always be aware about this option.

In addition if you need the Variogram model for indicator estimation or simulation, you must select "Indicated" here. The value Gridat set as the threshold is always third quarter of initial values. Type you threshold value here [8].

Now you are ready t vi the result. Click Ok.

"Model Setting" window will be closed.anguage:FA">"Model Setting" window will be closed.t;line-height: 150%;font-family:Arial;color:black;mso-bidi-language:FA">"Model Setting" window will be closed.

Now "Models" tab is activated and the Variogram is created.

The title of Variogram is shown at the left side of "Models" tab, indexed by a number [9].

If you can't see it, select "Project Explorer" from "View" menu.

You can't change the index but the title of the map and other options could be edited.

There are several options for models available on "Property bar", at the right side of Model [10].

If you can't see it, select "Model Property Bar" from "View" menu.

Try several changes to being more familiar with this object.

For example you can change the color of curve from dark green to red [11].

All options are not available for every model. For example "Curves" properties are available just for relative histogram and Variograms.

If you want to change some initial settings like data entry properties or Variography parameters, right click the model and select "Option and Settings" to access "Model Setting" window again.

When you right click the model a popup menu will be appeared and some commands would be available. These commands are available at "Model Toolbar"
